The air-activated check valve are installed on the outlet side of the meter, and are designed to stop the flow of liquid whenever air is present to ensure accurate measurement of product. Used where air entrapment is of particular concern in the application, such as draining tanks.

Serves to remove the rest of the wind that is in the liquid. The valve will close the liquid exit from the flow meter to the pipe if there is still air/air in the liquid. This remaining air will be removed by the air check valve through the air eliminator. The air check valve will continue to work to remove the wind in the liquid, until the wind / air is really no longer in the liquid. If the wind/air is no longer in the liquid, the valve will open and the liquid in the flow meter can escape.
